Eligibility

Eligibility Requirements

U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Full-time UCI student With an interest in the biomedical or behavioral sciences.
Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher
Committed to earning a Ph.D. In a biomedical or behavioral research field after graduation.

How to Apply

Apply online through the MARC application form. You’ll be asked to upload the documents below, so have them ready before you start.

  1. Early spring quarterApply

    Applications open in early spring quarter. Submit your application by the deadline.

  2. After the deadlineReview

    The MARC Review Committee will evaluate your application.

  3. By emailDecision

    You will be notified of the committee’s decision by email.

    Note: Specific dates, including when decisions will be sent, will be announced when applications open.

  4. Summer 2027Start MARC

    Appointments for the 2027–28 cohort begin in the summer with full-time summer research.

    Note: The anticipated start date is June 21, 2027, pending confirmation.
