Join the UC Irvine community for the annual MARC Symposium, where undergraduate researchers will present work they conducted over the summer.
The symposium highlights the research experiences of students in the Maximizing Access to Research Careers (MARC) program. Through oral and poster presentations, students will share their research questions, approaches and findings with the campus community.
Faculty, staff and students are invited to attend either or both sessions. Come explore undergraduate research, ask questions and support students as they prepare for careers in biomedical science.

About the MARC Program
UC Irvine’s Maximizing Access to Research Careers (MARC) program is an undergraduate honors program supported by the National Institutes of Health. It prepares students for doctoral study and research careers in the biomedical and behavioral sciences through faculty mentorship, research training and financial support.
Typically spanning students’ junior and senior years, the program combines sustained laboratory research with seminars, scientific writing and presentation training, and guidance through the graduate school application process. Scholars also gain experience conducting summer research at another institution and presenting their work at scientific conferences. Explore MARC’s training and opportunities.
The annual symposium brings this training into focus, giving students an opportunity to communicate their summer research and engage with the broader UC Irvine community.
